At Sorian, installation is carried out by experienced, trained personnel supervised by a qualified mechanical engineer. Every installation comes with a full documentation package: engineering calculations, installation records, pre-commissioning checklist, and handover documentation.
What's included in every installation
- Site survey and pre-installation structural assessment.
- Engineering calculations — structural loads, anchor design, beam sizing.
- Supply of all crane components, runway, end stops, electrics.
- Installation by trained personnel.
- Pre-commissioning load testing.
- Handover documentation package — calculations, certificates, O&M manual.
- Compliance to AS 1418 and AS 2550 confirmed in writing.
WorkSafe design registration
Cranes above certain capacity and/or configuration thresholds require WorkSafe design registration before installation. We manage this process as part of the project — including registered engineer review where required.
Why this matters
An installed crane is a structural connection between the load and your building. If the runway beam is undersized, the anchor bolts are under-spec'd, or the welds aren't to a recognised structural welding standard, the failure mode is not a slow-motion warning — it's a sudden one. The documentation package isn't paperwork; it's the evidence trail your H&S manager, your insurer, and the regulator will all want to see.
Every Sorian install ships with the calculation package, the certificates, and a written compliance statement. No exceptions, no extra cost — it's how the work is sold.
