When a gantry beats an overhead
An overhead bridge crane needs runway beams supported by either the building or dedicated crane columns. If neither is feasible — leased premises, low-clearance buildings, outdoor yards — a gantry is structurally simpler and often substantially cheaper. For coastal and outdoor environments, we specify hot-dip galvanised structures with stainless fixings, designed for cyclic wind loading per AS/NZS 1170.2.
